How time flies! In September 1996, the first edition of the theory book was published, which gave rise to the current collection of books and materials in Strategic Management. The then-Civitas Publishing House published it, which is now part of the Aranzadi group. Since then, we have published additional books and different editions of some of them. On this page, we want to show the history of our publications from the beginning to the present day.
La dirección estratégica de la empresa. Teoría y aplicaciones
(Strategic Management. Theory and Applications)
We published the first book in 1996. It arose from several years of developing teaching materials in business strategy at the Complutense University of Madrid. Little by little, the materials grew and were modified with the authors' experience. They were previously published as class notes and changed every year. Until 1995, when the publisher proposed that we complete and publish them. This was achieved a year later. It was decided to incorporate examples mainly from Spanish companies (applications) that better reflect the reality closest to the students.

Casos de dirección estratégica de la empresa
(Cases in Strategic Management)
The first theory book soon needed a complement in the discipline of Strategic Management: case studies. Two years after the first edition of the theory book, and coinciding with its second edition, the case book appeared in 1998. As with the theory, the authors compiled and updated materials worked on in class and developed new cases. Here too, we decided to work with Spanish companies or those based in Spain.
Fundamentos de dirección estratégica de la empresa
(Fundamentals of Strategic Management)
To adapt to the new Bologna regulations and curricula, the first edition of a reduced version of the original book appeared in 2012, titled Fundamentals of Strategic Management. The aim is to condense the main contents to be taught in a single semester. This book adopts a new format, and each chapter includes teaching activities for students, such as a summary table, self-assessment questions, in-class activities, and recommended readings, among others. In 2013, the English version of this book appeared, aimed at courses in bilingual degrees or at being taught in third countries.
